Seine River School Division Policy #604 States:
The Seine River School Division (The Division), in support of its MISSION to ensure the highest quality education in a safe and caring environment, believes and commits to the principle that nothing is more important than the safety and health of our employees, students and others working at or visiting our facilities. A safe working environment and the protection from safety and health hazards shall be the top priority for all employees at all levels. Safety and health will not be disregarded or bypassed in planning, budgeting, direction and implementation of activities to support divisional priorities.
We will ensure safety and health programs are implemented, maintained, and continually improved to meet or exceed applicable provincial regulations. We believe that our commitment in doing everything possible to make sure that we effectively deal with any potential incidents, real or perceived, will have our workplaces realize an incident and injury- free environment. Additionally, we will strive to continually create and improve a safety culture that fosters teams of interdependence to:
- Sustain the values of Honesty, Empathy and Respect;
- Help others conform to safety and health programming;
- Act as others' keepers, create care for others and share best practices; and
- Build and achieve organizational wellbeing, pride and an effective Internal Responsibility System (IRS)
All persons in the services of The Division are accountable for their safety and health acts or omission, and responsibilities in established safety program elements.
Commitment to Safety and Health
The safety and health of persons associated with Seine River School Division must be an integral part of everything we do. Our personal, employee and students' wellness and future success depends upon it.
