It is the Mission of Seine River School Division to engage students in learning experiences that develop literate, innovative and socially responsible citizens.
We believe that:
- Children must feel valued
- Children will learn
- Children's learning needs must be met
Manitoba Philosophy of Inclusion
Inclusion is a way of thinking and acting that allows every individual to feel accepted, valued and safe. An inclusive community consciously evolves to meet the changing needs of its members. Through recognition and support, an inclusive community provides meaningful involvement and equal access to the benefits of citizenship.
In keeping with the Manitoba Philosophy of Inclusion and the Seine River School Division Mission and Beliefs, we are committed to providing all students with appropriate programming that supports student participation in both the academic and social life of the school.
Student Supports:
- Supports begin with the student in the classroom and expand outwards to include varying levels of supports and assessments according to the individual needs of the student.
- Supports within each school include resource teachers, Learning support teachers, counsellors, and at each high school, alternative programming teachers.
- Divisional supports include speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapist, school psychologists and social work clinicians. When required, supports from outside the school division are accessed to support students in the school.
- Students who require additional personnel and or equipment receive appropriate supports to build independence
