Tansi, We welcome the students back from winter break and wish a Happy New Year to all! We would also like to thank everyone at CSNC for your donations for BearClan Inc., Ooskat worked very hard getting things organized for the Christmas hamper. We held our Christmas gathering at SNAC, the students all pitched in for the potluck and organized all of the activities for the day. It was awesome to see them having a great time together.
In January we went on a neighbourhood walk and were reminded of all the great history that St. Norbert has and what our forefathers fought for. Did you know that on October 19th, 1869, a public meeting was held at St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church and at that meeting, the Comité National des Métis was formed? Louis Riel was secretary of the committee, and their first act was to erect a barrier across the Pembina Trail to keep out unwanted emissaries of the Canadian Government. It really is amazing what you can learn about our history if you just take the time to look around.
Ooskat will be having a pizza sale on February 14. All proceeds will go to help our Australian furry friends impacted by the wildfires.
