Indigenous Education/Mino-Pimatisiwin (The Good Life) refers to living a well-balanced life where all four components of a human are being addressed—emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual. Noted by the province as being what we want for all students. Global Competencies - Manitoba defines global competencies as complex ways of knowing, being, doing, and becoming in consideration of the learner. The competencies are multi-faceted, interdependent, trans-disciplinary, and develop over time throughout one’s life. There are six Global Competencies: Connection to Self, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity, and Citizenship.

Curriculum is developed by Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning.  It is discipline/subject based and has specific grade level learning outcomes and enduring understandings.  In Seine River School Division Curriculum is offered under two programs: English and French Immersion. Learning Experiences and Assessment-Seine River schools work toward learning experiences that authentic, relevant, and inclusive learning experiences in our schools. Teachers assess throughout learning experiences using, observation, conversation and product to support learners progress in their knowledge and understanding.  These too are separated into English Program and French Immersion Program.

Evaluation and reporting - The formal process that connects student learning to Manitoba Curriculum Outcomes.  It highlights what a student knows, can do, and understands at specific points in the school year. Seine River provides a Provincial Report card to grades 1-12 students.
