Ward 2 Candidate Marinus Van Osch
Marinus is a lifelong resident of the community and believes strong communities are built through relationships, listening, and a willingness to serve.
For 16 years (1986-2002), Marinus has had the privilege of serving as a trustee with the SRSD, representing Lorette, Île des Chênes, Grande Pointe, and St. Adolphe. He returned in 2022 because he wanted to continue contributing to the community and ensuring that local families and students have a strong voice in decisions affecting their schools.
Marinus strives to find a balance between the needs of our education system and the needs and priorities of the broader community. He believes good decisions require listening to students, families, educators, and community members, understanding different perspectives, and considering both today's needs and the long-term interests of the community.
While his professional background is in accounting, it is his connection to people and community that has shaped his approach to public service. He brings experience, common sense, fiscal responsibility, and a genuine desire to help.
Marinus believes trustees have a responsibility to be accessible, accountable, and willing to listen, not only during an election, but every day.
For Marinus, public service is about giving back to the community that has been his lifelong home by helping build a strong, welcoming, and vibrant future for local families.
