2026 SCHOOL TRUSTEE CANDIDATE INFORMATION MANUAL
Anyone wishing to run for School Trustee must complete two separate processes:
1. Register as a prospective candidate
Registration is required before a prospective candidate may accept contributions, incur campaign expenses, fundraise or borrow money for their campaign.
- Registration period: June 30 to September 22, 2026
- Registration deadline: September 22, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
- Location: Seine River School Division Office, 475-A Senez Street, Lorette
- By appointment only
Registration alone does not place a person’s name on the ballot.
2. File nomination papers
To become an official candidate, a registered prospective candidate must file completed nomination papers during the nomination period. The nomination papers will be reviewed by the Senior Election Official and must be accepted before the person becomes a candidate.
- Nomination dates: September 16, 17, 18, 21 and 22, 2026
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Location: Seine River School Division Office, 475-A Senez Street, Lorette
- By appointment only
- Final deadline: September 22, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
Prospective candidates who have not yet registered may still register before the September 22 deadline. Registration and filing of nomination papers may also be completed during the same appointment, provided the individual has not already undertaken campaign-financing activities.
