Ward 2 Candidate Karen Alevizos
My Name is Karen Alevizos. I am a candidate for School Trustee in Seine River School Division Ward 2.
I was employed by SRSD for 28 years. I supported the Secretary Treasurer and the Assistant
Superintendent Instruction & Curriculum. I attended board meetings as Recording Secretary for 25 years.
This gave me the opportunity to listen to and learn from the Board's conversations and discussions. I
gained knowledge of Board processes and procedures and gained an understanding of the reasons and
rational related to decisions made by the Board. I retired in January 2026.
I believe that community relationships and conversations are important and vital. I believe that parents
and caregivers have a role and a responsibility to participate in conversations. I believe that all financial
and operational decisions made by the Board must be viable and sustainable while operating within the
budget with minimal to no tax increase to ratepayers.
I am committed to serving the communities of Ward 2, respectfully and honestly. Student learning in safe
and caring environments is a priority. I will advocate for and support our students and staff. I will strive to
make informed decisions, both financially and operationally.
It would be a privilege to serve and be the voice for Ward 2.
