It is the graduate’s responsibility to ensure they have the correct amount and right types of credits in order to graduate.
All potential grads must visit the guidance counsellor (Mme. Cormier) to ensure a proper credit check is done.
Please visit the guidance office on your spare to set up an appointment. If you have no spares, or are an Apprenticeship student, please contact Mme. Cormier to set up a time to review your credits.
Credits Required for Graduation
Graduates require a minimum of five 40-Level credits to graduate, and six 40-Level credits to attend university, with a total of 30 credits or more.
Note: Universities and colleges have different entrance requirements. Students are responsible to be sure they have the entrance requirements they need.
Starting with Grad 2018, the Seine River School Division will cover costs for convocation (diploma ceremony). This means there is no cost to you to participate in convocation. The only costs you will have is for the dinner and dance.
Each potential graduate will receive tickets for their convocation (diploma ceremony) guests. We estimate each potential grad will receive 10 tickets. The potential grad DOES NOT require a ticket for entrance.
Please note that there is no overflow room or ‘children’s room’ at this venue. Small children who require their own seat will count as requiring a ticket for entrance.

Each potential graduate receives 4 (four) dinner tickets with their grad fees. The potential grad DOES require a ticket for dinner. This means the 4 (four) dinner tickets are 1 (one) for the potential grad, and 3 remaining tickets for their guests.
If additional dinner tickets become available in June, each potential grad will have an opportunity to purchase more tickets. A text alert will be sent out to notify all grads. Please be aware that small children and infants also require a ticket for entrance.
Dinner Ticket Forms
In the spring, a package of Dinner Ticket Forms will be mailed to all potential grads. These forms are information we require from each potential grad in order to finalize planning. These completed forms will be due the date grad payment balances are due.
Graduating students have the opportunity to fundraise money that will go into their individual grad accounts. Money in the individual grad accounts can be used towards grad fees, banquet tickets, grad wear, grad jewelry, and grad photos.
Catalogues featuring a variety of designs and options are available for all students. A $65.00 deposit is required at the time of ordering. Check out the Jostens website for more details or to design and order your own jewelry online.
Sittings for grad portraits will take place at the school during exam week at the end of January with re-takes in early March. A text alert will be made once the sign-up sheet for the sittings has been posted in the office.
Note: Only the grad portraits taken at the school will appear in the composite picture displayed in CLC’s hallway.
Grad Student Committee
The grad student committee is a group of willing Grade 12 students that would like to help plan their grad. All potential grads are welcome to attend the Grad Student Committee’s monthly meetings which occur during lunch hour on the first Wednesday of each month.
A grad video will be produced by Mrs. Gauthier. Please email or bring in an envelope of THREE baby/childhood photos of yourself to Mrs. Gauthier before the end of first semester.
Designed and sold by CLC Fashion Entrepreneurship students. A text alert will be sent when grad wear is available for purchase.
Intention to Participate in Grad Events
A form will be sent in the mail to all potential grads in early spring asking if you plan to participate in the two grad events: convocation and dinner. It is very important that all potential grads fill out this form and return it to the office by the deadline. We use the numbers based on these forms to determine how many seats are available for each graduate for both events.
For convocation: we will need to know if you have guests who use wheelchairs, or have mobility issues.
Rehearsal and Grad Event Tickets
Rehearsal for convocation is MANDATORY for all potential grads to attend if they are convocating. After rehearsal is completed, potential grads will receive their tickets for convocation and dinner.

All grad information is sent out using the Remind text alert system. There are many time-sensitive deadlines for grad, so please make sure you're signed up. Families are strongly encouraged to sign up as well.

Safe Grad is planned and supervised by an interested parent/guardian committee. This is NOT a school event: administrators/staff do not attend.
Families of graduates are strongly encouraged to get involved by volunteering their time to help plan a fun and secure Safe Grad.
We use the Club Regent Event Centre for our convocation and dinner celebrations.
Club Regent Event Centre is located at 1425 Regent Ave W, Winnipeg.
