
| Increasing student abilities to understand and use number sense concepts and communicate about mathematics are priority areas in numeracy in Seine River School Division. Number sense refers to the student’s ability to understand, recall and use math facts and operations in a variety of ways. It also refers to student understanding of what a number means or represents. For example, the number six can be thought of as multiples of two [2+2+2], a half a dozen, three pairs, two groups of three, and in other mathematical and real life ways. |
